Let's talk True Blood
We are 2 weeks into the season now so I guess I need to post about it. Here are my random thoughts on what's going on so far this season.
- I am now over the fact that the show is so much different than the books!
- There needs to be WAY more Alcide this season.
- I do NOT like that they saved Tara by turning her, I think LaLa had it right when he tried to stake her on Episode 2.
- I like Terry, but he is weirder this season than usual!
- I do NOT like that it's been 2 episodes now and Sookie hasn't been in a single scene with Eric OR Bill.
- I like that Lucy Griffiths (Marian from Robin Hood) is playing Eric's "sister".
- I don't like that he completely forgot about Sookie when he saw her!
- I don't like the whole Authority story line.
- I do like that Peter Menseh (Doctore/Oenomaus from Spartacus) is on the show!
- What happened to Jesus' body?
- I don't like "in charge" Jessica.
- I am sick of Hoyt blaming Jason for what happened with Jessica. I know bro's before ho's and all that, but Hoyt made his decision when he threw her out.
- Where is Alcide in this picture?
- I have to post one of him to make up for it!
So, what do you think of the new season so far?

TWO MORE DAYS!!
I want to buy one of these but I can't decide which one to get...

I feel like I am going to have to go with the Joe (Alcide) one because I already have so many with Alexander...
I am anxious to see how they handle the Tara thing...I have never cared for her character so I am hoping she will just be gone, but I don't think they will just kill her off like that. What do you think they will do with her?

Monday Randomness
I think I should do all my blogs like this, especially on days when I want to blog, but don't have anything particularly interesting to say!! Today, I think I will just tell you some random things about me. Some you may know, some you may not...
I like him like this...NOT the face he showed at the end...I hope he comes back in the future.
- I can read a book a day, sometimes up to 5 books or more a week.
- It doesn't bother me to stay at home, sometimes days at a time.
- I had braces when I was pregnant with Colton, I was 28 when I had them put on.
- I would rather see any movie with a paranormal or action theme over a chick flick.
- I have never read a Graphic Novel, but I have bought the 1st Walking Dead Book, I just need to read it!
- I don't like to leave the house without makeup, but sometimes I just don't want to bother...
- I haven't been swimming in more than 5 years.
- I am annoyed right now that it's taking my iPhone AGES to upload my pictures to Google+.
- I only use Google+ to save my iPhone pictures and to occasionally plug my blogs.
- I have wanted to write a book since I was in High School, maybe one day I will...
- I absolutely can't leave the house in flip flops if my toe nails aren't painted.
- I would pack up and move away from here in a minute if Jake would.
- Of all the places I have visited, and there haven't been many, Seattle is the place I would most like to live.
- I was engaged my Senior year of HS, man am I glad that didn't work out!
- I don't have an IRL best friend, most of my friends are online.
- My IRL best friend from HS is married to the guy I was engaged to in HS...I guess I don't have to tell you that we haven't been friends since 1992!
- It was actually my fault that we broke up though...
- I don't feel like I am in my mid-upper 30's.
- The closer I get to it, the less old 40 is!
- If American Idol had been around in the early to mid 90's I am pretty sure I would have auditioned.
- I don't have any tattoo's but I desperately want one. I want one by Dan Smith, though, so I doubt I will ever get one!
- I never attended a public school in all my K-12 years.
- I now work for a public school and I realize how much I missed out on.
Hmmmm....maybe that's all I will do. I may make this a weekly thing, there are so many annoying things about me that I could tell you. Maybe I will do one of Pet Peeves or something. I like list posts, that would be something cool to do as well.
I don't want to not post any pictures, but like I said Google+ is being a pain and it hasn't uploaded anything from the past 4 days... Ok, I know what I will do. Last night was the last episode of this seasons Game of Thrones, here are a couple pictures of my absolute favorite 'minor' characters this season.
Remember her from Downton Abbey? I am hoping we see more of her (and Jon!) in the next season. I still need to read the books though. I am SO curious about the Wilding (zombies) at the end and I know that I am going to have to read the books to find out more about them.
Ok, that's all for now! Have a great afternoon!

I want to see...
These movies in the theater this summer...
That last one is Magic Mike and I think it's pretty obvious why it's on my list (Matt Bomer, Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, Matthew McConaughey and they didn't even have Alex Pettyfer in the photo!)
What are your "must see" movies for the summer?

What Maisie Knew
I adore Alexander and this looks like a must see...
I may have to start re-watching the last season of True Blood now since I am not going to get to see Battleship this weekend. :(

Mother's Day
I am going in to cleaning and cooking mode this afternoon. We decided to have my in-laws over for dinner tomorrow night for Mother's Day. This includes Jake's sister, her husband and 2 kids! I don't think we have ever had them all over for dinner before. The kids are going to be so excited, they don't know about it yet. I am going to have to put them to work cleaning too. I have their lists all made out!
This is what is on the menu
- Chicken Fried Chicken
- Mashed Potatoes and gravy
- peas, corn and green beans
- Homemade Texas Roadhouse hot rolls
- Strawberry/Blueberry Shortcake with homemade shortcake and whipped cream
I wish I was one of those moms who always had the house ready for company but I am SO not! I can barely keep up with the kids mess most of the time. It's actually pretty clean right now, just the usual stuff to do like vacuuming, mopping, etc... Most of the time will be getting ready for dinner I think. I love to cook though so that's always fun for me!
I picked out a couple of my own Mother's Day gifts today...that was fun! We are doing pizza for dinner then we are going to watch this when the kids go to bed...

Randomness part 2...
I love these posts so I am going to to them more often!
- My scalp is super dry and itchy from the bleach, but I love the pink
- The pink is already starting to fade :(
- I subbed 4th grade yesterday, they were loud
- Not bad, just loud
- Today I subbed Kindergarten at the same school
- I got a visit from the 4th grade class complete with apology letters from each kid!
- That was nice of them to do...they weren't really a bad class
- I ordered this cover for my Kindle last week, I hope it's in the mail tomorrow.
- I hope the color looks more like the picture toward the bottom of that page!
- I am excited for the season finales of Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle tonight.
- I have the SMASH soundtrack on my iTunes and I just can't get enough of it today!
- I have liked Katharine MacPhee since she was on American Idol
- I need to get off the computer so I can read my book...City Of Lost Souls
- I am WAY excited for True Blood to start
Here are a couple images to get you (mostly me) through until June 10th!

It's time...
I think it's time to jump on the blog train once again. I will warn you though, my life is still pretty boring and most of my posts will be about books, TV, kids, etc...!!
I did manage to drag my sewing machine out this past week, for the first time since the start of the year. It's still sitting on my kitchen table because I need to fix a pair of pants and make myself a wrist strap for my new camera. It will most likely be put back into hiding shortly thereafter. At least until I feel the need to sew something again! Here is what I used it for. I made this skirt for Bailey out of a pair of jeans that were too short and had a hole in the knee. It's super cute, but when she wore it to church yesterday she ripped out a lot of the hem stitching. They were stretch denim jeans and I need to find the right thread for that type of fabric, otherwise she will just rip them out every time I fix it! Any suggestions?
I also made a purse, phone case and makeup bag for a girl that Jake works with. It was an Izzy with the red OU fabric I have used before. It was so weird making a purse again, but it was just like riding a bike! I just had to go out an buy a lot of stuff that I used all up before I stopped sewing. I will probably work on stuff off and on to put in my Etsy store in the summer though. We'll have to see how it goes!
Jake, Bailey and I went to see The Hunger Games on Saturday. It was really good, I was not disappointed in it at all. It was a bit jerky though and that was a little annoying for someone with glasses, but once I got past that I was okay. I think it would have been better farther back from the screen, even though we were already about 1/2 way back.
Hmmmmm.....what else is going on?? Today was the kids 1st day back from Spring Break. I didn't work today, but I am working tomorrow at the boys' school, which is my absolute favorite school to work in! I have worked 8 days so far this month and all but one day was in their school. I have 3 schools that are the ones I most generally work in and in those I have specific classes that I always seem to end up taking and I really love them! There is only about 2 months of school left now then I have to find something to do for summer...maybe I will get a job at our new Ulta!!
In just 3 days I will be 38....I can hardly believe it. I don't really feel that old...most of the time! As you can tell, I am not one of those girls who won't admit her age, what's the point of that anyway? I LOVE my birthday!
I got an iPhone 4 the beginning of February and I am in the process of uploading all my pictures to my Google+ account so I can use those on here. I tend to use that much more than my camera these days. I am LOVING instagram so much. I started a photo a day challenge in March and I have kept up with that all month and I am ready for April too. This is the prompt that I am using, it's so fun. It's from this blog, and she does a new one each month. I like having someone tell me what to photograph too, it makes it easier for me to keep up with. Although, if you make "moon" a prompt, it's probably best to make sure that it's not the first day after the new moon when there is no visible moon for most of the US!!
Well, I don't want to bore you too much all at once on my first day back, so I will leave you for now! Have a wonderful evening. I am off to make pizza for the kids and I for dinner!

Vacation is almost over...
I am not quite ready to go back, but I am ready for the house to be quiet again! I haven't gotten much done around here, but I was just planning to relax and read so it's all good. I have sewed a bit and I managed to go to the movies yesterday. I went to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It was excellent. Daniel Craig is brilliant as Mikael Blomkvist, actually, all the acting was superb. I loved the book and the Swedish version of the movie was good too, but not having to read subtitles in this was made it better for me! I am ready to read the book again, but I am going to wait until after the 1st of the year to start it.
I cheated and adjusted my Goodreads goal to 123 instead of 130. I am only at 121 right now, but I may still be able to make it. I think I am going to set my 2012 goal at 125 and see how that goes, it's probably a little high still but since I am not going to be doing custom sewing work I may have a little more time.
We have been getting a bunch of our shows watched while Jake is on vacation. We watched all of the 3rd series of Misfits, all of Terra Nova, we have 1 episode left to be caught up to Once Upon a Time and we are going to get caught up with Grimm tonight and tomorrow. We also have Cowboys and Aliens to watch tonight. I am kind of in a Daniel Craig kind of mood so I am looking forward to that one!

Here is a little something I worked on this week when I felt the need to sew. I am practicing blocks for the quilt I want to make in 2012. This is a pillow top for Bailey, the picked the blocks and all the fabrics for each one. I need to work on making sure my seam allowances are all 1/4" so that they are all the same size blocks. We decided to do these wonky since they sizes were all a little off! I still have to finish the back and get a pillow for it. Now the boys have decided that they each need one too so they have picked out block styles. I will probably work on them next week since I am going to be spending the next few days reading!
Ok, well I am going to get off here so I can watch Nathan Fillion on The Nerdist....
Have a great day!

What to do...
Now that I don't have to come home and sew all evening I am having a hard time trying to decide what to do. It's not that I don't have enough to do, it's that there is so much that I need to do that I can't decide what to do first and then I just end up doing nothing! I have laundry to do, my house is a disaster, but I don't feel like cleaning it once I come home. I just want to have a cup of coffee and sit and do nothing! So I have been...I work all day tomorrow then so far I am off until school break is over. There are still 3.5 days of school left, but so far I haven't seen any subs needed for those days. Since I am off Thursday and Friday, I plan to stay home and clean, maybe I will take a lunch break to get soup at Panera if it's still cold out. I really need to start getting all my sewing stuff put away. I still have a couple things I need to get made though. I made these for the boys over the weekend. The stripes is for Colton and the Robots for Dillon.

One Step Closer...
I got my Substitute Certification yesterday! I turned in my application today and I should hear back within a week. She said that I may not even need to interview...that would be awesome. I always get so nervous. I have been checking into pointing my domain name to my Etsy store. That will be happening on or around the 30th of this month so that I don't have to pay my Big Cartel fees again. Since I will be going to 100% pre-made items, it's just not worth it to pay a monthly fee when I can pay only for the items I sell on Etsy. I will also get a little more exposure for the items that I do list. You will still be able to find me by typing in pinkpunkboutique.com too, so that's a good thing!

Movies that make you think...
Have you ever watched a movie that your couldn't stop thinking about? I have, but only a couple of times really. I am talking about something maybe controversial or one of those vague movies that has you reading reviews, message boards, etc... I think about a lot of movies, but on a different level if that makes any sense.
If you know me at all, you know that if I like an actor I will watch just about anything that they make! I just finished the most recent series of Doctor Who and I wanted to watch Matt Smith is something different so I got a movie that he made just prior to filming his first season as The Doctor. The movie is called Womb and to say it's slightly uncomfortable to watch is an understatement. It stars Matt and Eva Green. Now I don't care for Eva since watching Camelot, but I figured I would suffer through her to see Matt. In actuality, Matt is only in about 1/3 of the movie maybe less.
Now if controversial subject matter makes you uncomfortable this is not the movie for you. Also if you don't like artsy/indy films it's not for you. Also, this is going to be a spoiler so if you think it's something you may watch, you might want to quit reading this now!

To Do List Tuesday!
I haven't made myself a to do list in ages, but maybe that's what I need so that I actually manage to get something done! Yesterday I got such a late start that I ended up not really getting much done. I think that when I get up earlier I am not dragging all day long even though I get less sleep. SO, no more weekday sleeping in for me, even on Mondays!
Here is my To Do list for today
Here is my To Do list for today
- Finish and actually put laundry away.
- Clean both bathrooms.
Get Mary's order packed and in the mail (I did actually get this one finished yesterday!).Sew the button on Kristy's Wallet, send to work with Jake.- Cut and sew
2 iPad Sleeves, a coupon clutch,a Nook sleeve and a Kindle sleeve. - Start cutting an Izzy Purse and a Messenger Purse (I may need more fleece to finish these).
I don't want to overwhelm myself so I am going to stop there! I will mark these off as I complete them though to keep myself on track.
So, what did you think of Castle last night? As much as I like Victor Webster, Kate's doctor boyfriend, I was glad that she finally ended it with him. I am not as happy that she lied and told Richard that she didn't remember him telling him that he loved her because we all know that she loves him too. I hate it when a series does this though, they just drag it out (ie. X-Files) for so long that you end up hating them both by the 7th(ish) season because they just can't get it together! Next week it looks like they are back to the funny/witty Castle that we all know and love so that makes me happy.
Glee starts tonight! My kids are excited even though I don't really let them watch the show...weird, I know. Colton especially, loves the singing so I watch the show, then the next day I will let them watch all the singing stuff. For me, there is just too much adult content for them to watch the actual story lines. They know that Kurt likes boys, but I don't feel like they are ready to actually see him kissing Blaine or hear his dad talking to him about sex, etc.... I am just not ready to cross that bridge quite yet. For now, they are happy just skipping through to watch the singing. For the record, I feel the same way about the conversations about sex with any of the characters not just the Kurt/Blaine relationship. Blaine is actually my favorite character on the show, that boy can sing for me any day at all! Who is your favorite Glee character?
Any True Blood fans out there? I know it's been over a week, but what did you think of the finale? That was CRAZY, wasn't it?! We all know that Russell is back and will be on next season. What about Tara? My theory is, either Bill or Eric will swoop in and bring Tara back, maybe even turn her. So she will either be indebted to a vampire for saving her life or she will become the thing she hates. Debbie Pelt is GONE and good riddance for sure. So is Nan, but she was becoming a huge annoyance as well. I think we will see Jesus again, if only through Lafayettes ghost eyes. I am a huge Eric/Sookie shipper, but I really would like to see her with Alcide at some point in this next season. He deserves to have some happiness, don't you think? I don't know...I just hate waiting 9 months for each season...it's too long!
Well, I guess I should get to work if I am going to get anything marked of my list today! Have a good one!
