LOL's

I know it's been awhile since I posted and honestly it doesn't bother me.  I just don't have time to keep up with this blog and my other one.  I am just not quite ready to give this one up yet!

Here are a couple things I just think are TOO funny...

We watched Piranha 3DD a couple weeks ago and when I saw this shot of David Koechner on the screen in this outfit I just about died!  Okay, I know that they are "cool" and expensive, etc...but if you are over the age of about 35 or so and you don't look like David Beckham or say Adam Levine, this is what you look like when you wear jeans like this.  I am not even going to touch the hideous shirt or any shirt that has a cross, wings, says Affliction, etc...!!!

Seriously?  We can't all be rock stars...enough said!

I just LOVE these post card things and there are TONS of them out there but here are a couple of my favorites.

Time for some Randomness

This is going to be a random post since I want to post something here, but I don't really have much to say!

• School starts back up in about 4 weeks...I am ready!
• I am ready even though I have to start work then too.
• I am all caught up with PPB orders up to yesterdays orders.
• I have taken 3 orders since then!
• I am only taking orders for a couple more days then PPB will be closing up shop for good.
• My Book blog has taken off in the past few weeks.
• I am getting emails from authors to review their books.
• I have read A LOT of really good books in the past few weeks!
• I have found a couple of really really good authors because of the blog.
• It's SUPER fun to get free books in the mail in exchange for a review.
• It's even better when the book is signed to me!
• Right now I am reading an ARC Galley copy of a book in a series that I LOVE that doesn't even come out until 9/4...how cool it that?!!
• The down side is, you have to learn to decline books that have the potential to be bad or you waste time reading books that aren't very good.
• People are starting to annoy me...that's pretty vague
• I have been hiding statuses on FB that annoy me, and hiding/deleting people who always post things that annoy me
• I don't like statuses that are posted to garner attention...or ones that invite people to ask questions, just say what you want to say.  
• Don't post something and say, I don't want to give any details...if you don't want to give details then why post it in the first place?
• I am SICK of people judging others by saying things like "those who consider themselves to be Christians"...
• I am in a crappy mood today...just in case it wasn't obvious!
• I probably shouldn't be posting anything, but this is my blog and I can say what I want...
• it's not like anyone really reads this anyway!
• ok, I am going to stop now, but I am going to do a pet peeves post sometime so I can get it all out!

One of those weeks...

here is how this week has gone

• 1st week of summer
• adjusting to kids being home all day
• staying up WAY to late reading
• somewhat relieved that we are now a cat free household
• sad that the kids are sad that he is gone
• not sad that I am more comfortable at home now
• haven't left the house since Sunday
• I don't mind that at all
• woke up with a sore throat, headache and stuffiness today
• the coughing has started
• I hate being sick and I hope it doesn't last long
• I do like that I can just sit around and read though
• I applied for a job in the boys' school today
• if I get it I won't be subbing next year
• I am excited to do something new and to feel "at home" in a school though
• ...hopefully I will get the job!
• I have had a ton of hits on this blog

Randomness...

Not much going on today so here is some randomness for you!

• I didn't have a job today.
• I have been doing laundry and reading the new Sookie Stackhouse book that came out today.
• So far it's just "okay", I will review it on my other blog when I finish.
• Lets just say, it's probably a good thing she is ending this series...the spark is pretty much gone.
• We met Jake's family at Pacific Rim to eat Chinese for lunch.
• It was yummy and I have leftovers for dinner tonight!
• We hit Target for an Rx and I found something I MUST have.
• I told Jake he could get it for me for Mother's Day!
• Bailey is going to The Bridge tonight and won't be home till 7 or so.
• The boy's are at Victoria's playing...
• I am home alone now!
• SO...I am going to make myself an iced cappuccino...
• Watch last night's episode of Castle
• and give myself a pedicure complete with French Tips
• IF I can get all the Navy Blue polish off my toenails!
• Maybe I will have a job tomorrow...

Me...a book reviewer?

Maybe...I don't know.  I want to do something new and I read a lot, I mean A LOT of books!  I want to start a new blog that is dedicated to reviewing the books I read and maybe do a movie/TV show review weekly feature.  On average I read about 4 books a week, sometimes more, sometimes less, but that is about average.  

I will start out just reviewing the books I have now, some that I have already read to fill in while I am reading something new.  Hopefully if I can get the word out there I can start getting ARC's from authors for review.  That's not why I am doing it though, really.  I have been struggling to find something to do and I want to write, so why not write about something that I love?!

Along the way, the past few years I have found other women my age who like to read the same kinds of books that I do and it's so fun to talk about what we are reading.  Maybe I can even convince them to guest blog their own reviews!

So now I am going to take a little time to brainstorm a good blog name and get something set up here on Blogger.  I will post a link when I get it done!

I don't want to leave you without a picture so here you go...I read today that Ian says that he would like to throw in his hat to play Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades series, in the even that it makes it to the screen in the future.  All I have to say is, YES PLEASE!!

Taking a little break

Technically I am on a break, but I wanted to pop on here and let you know that I am going to take a little blog break.  I don't know for how long really.  I am just adjusting to working more outside the home and I don't really have all that much to blog about so I just haven't been!

Here is what I have been doing lately

• Working, I am shooting for 3 days a week sometimes it's more, sometimes less.
• Reading, as always
• Doing lots of laundry
• Cooking more, especially on the weekends
• Watching Gossip Girl from the beginning, truth be told that's what I am spending my reading time on lately, I am halfway through season 2
• trying no to spend too much time on the computer
• researching new phone plans, we are switching from US Cellular, just trying to decide between AT&T and Verizon.
• cleaning still
• and it seems like so much more!!

I will be back to blogging once I get more settled in this new schedule and hopefully I will have more to write about.

Christmas Eve...

Merry Christmas Eve!  I am not going out in the madness today, yesterday was more than enough for me!  Today I am home with Colton, Jake took the other 2 to town to exchange a couple things that ended up being duplicates.  Colton and I made a Christmas Playlist on Spotify so we have some music to listen to while I do laundry, clean and do my cooking for tomorrow.  I even put a little Justin Bieber on my playlist and if you know me at all you know that I don't like him much!

My plan is to get stuff done today so that I can relax for a couple days.  I am making hot rolls (Rhodes frozen this year) and Pina Colada Cake to take to the in-laws for lunch tomorrow.  I am 10 books behind my 2011 goal on Goodreads so I am going to see how close I can get over the next week.  I don't think I will make it, but we shall see!

I started a Tumblr blog a couple days ago, the idea is to use it for a photo a day challenge for 2012.  Basically, I start this every year and I never make it past a few months.  I think that it's too time consuming and staged when I use my big Nikon and so I just get tired of doing it.  I have to get the photos off my computer, edit then, post them, etc... and always before I take them with the intention of scrapping them at some point.  This year I am taking them all with my phone, editing them directly on my phone with my PicPlz app and uploading them to my Tumblr so most won't make it to this blog.  If you want to see them you will have to follow my Tumblr.  I will mix it up with some quotes, but for the most part it will just be pictures.  I have NO plans to scrap them, because in reality, I don't scrap anymore.  They will just be shots of my day, probably a lot of my quilting and maybe some school stuff.

We had our Christmas with out immediate family on Jake's side last night.  This is one of the things I got from my in-laws.  I have wanted one of these for years, but never wanted to spend the money on one for myself.  I can't wait to use it!

Well, I guess I need to get to work if I am going to get anything done today!  Have a wonderful Christmas Eve!!

Handmade gifts...

I think I have done handmade gifts for the kids teachers for the past few years now.  Last year I had a ton of stuff left over from the Cecil Floyd craft show so they picked out matching sets of Makeup bags, checkbook covers, mini zips and key fobs.  I didn't make anything specifically for the teachers though.  This year they helped by picking out the color zipper they wanted first, then they picked out fabric to match and I made these zip pouches.  These are for the boys teachers

Hiatus is officially over...

It been almost a month since I got rid of my hosting a decided to go in a different direction with my store, but it's been a lot longer since I last blogged!  It had been over a month since I had posted prior to that.  I missed it too much.  There is only so much that you can fit into that little box on Facebook and even less on Twitter.  I am still working on the layout and all that fun stuff here, so I am sure it will be changing some here and there until I get it exactly how I want it.  I will get there though.

My goal with this blog is to have a little bit about everything.  There will definitely be some Pink Punk Boutique stuff, other sewing projects, family stuff, photos, movies, books, recipes, maybe some tutorials in the future, all kinds of fun stuff!

First thing is to get the word out that I have a new blog, new blog host which means new blog address... So share my blog with anyone you think may enjoy it and bookmark it!  I am going to add blog links to the side bar, if you want me to add your blog just leave me a comment with your blog address and I will add you.

I don't want my first post to be without a picture so I will show you my early Mothers Day gift.  I picked it out myself, but I actually got this one!  It has 2 colors of pink stones all across the front...I LOVE it!!
