About Shelly

Hi!  My name is Shelly and I have had a blog online for probably close to 10 years now.  It changes from personal, to sewing, to books, etc...  This is my personal blog, but most of my posts will probably be sewing or craft related these days.  You can always hit my archives and see all the crazy things I have posted about though!

Here is the deal.  I am a working mom of 3 kids in grades 4, 5 and 8.  I have been married since 1996 and I couldn't be more happy...unless I had more time to do the things I love.  Here is the short list of my hobbies

• Reading
• Sewing
• Crafting
• Cooking

Otherwise I love TV, most especially British TV and anything Science Fiction or Supernatural in nature.  If it's a British Sci-Fi then I am in heaven!  I love Doctor Who, Matt Smith aka #11 is my favorite and I am not particularly happy with the casting for #12, but I am willing to give him a fair chance because I love the show so much.

Let's talk about sewing!  I have been sewing for a long time.  Some of you know that I was the owner/designer for Pink Punk Boutique and I had my own store online where I sold boutique camera bags, diaper bags, etc... for several years.  When I started working outside the home I shut down my store.  I re-opened in the summer of 2012 and had a really bad experience that put me off custom work for good.  

I started quilting a couple years ago and found that I really enjoyed it.  It's something that I want to do more of for sure.  I love using quilting techniques on a smaller scale as well.  I recently had a pillow that I designed and made featured in and on the cover of Heather Bostic's book Pillow Pop.

So, this blog is hopefully going to be about my further adventures in sewing....
