I just realized that I haven't posted since last Monday! I didn't realize it had been that long. I really didn't do much last week. I got a couple orders done, but I ran out of fleece on Thursday so I wasn't able to do any more. Luckily, I anticipated that I was going to run out so I ordered a bolt early in the week and it should be here today. I have had some trouble getting the type of fleece I use at Joann so I just ordered it. They haven't been stocking the one I use so I have been buying another one that cost more, but isn't as sturdy. I have no idea why something that's less would cost more...anyway, I ordered the kind I like and I only had a couple days of waiting.
I have also been having some issues with Fabric.com, the online store where I order 98% of my fabric. I have had a mix up or 2 in the past, but they always fix me right up with no problems. Lately, I have been ordering a lot of Plain Black decorator weight fabric. It seems like the last 3 times I have ordered the same exact fabric they have sent me 3 different types of fabric. Normally I don't have a problem with it, but the last one they sent to me was different, it was a little stretchy and thicker than what I normally work with and it wreaked havoc on my machine and my sanity as I was making a fairly big bag. I made it through though! Now, I have placed 4 orders in the past few weeks and in the first order they sent me 1/2 yard of the wrong fabric. I emailed them and they replaced it very quickly. Then 2nd order I ordered a yard of the aforementioned black fabric and they sent me 1/2 yard. I emailed them, they shipped out the fabric fairly quickly and I got it on Friday...it is not 1 yard of fabric, it's not decorator weight and it's not even black!! It's 2 yards of white cotton fabric with teen words/sayings printed all over it in bright colors! It's pretty, I am sure I can find a way to use it, but I don't think that my customer who wants a big OU Sooners bag will appreciate this paired with her OU black and maroon! What's more is that I can't even find this particular fabric on the website at all!! I emailed them...again, and I have yet to get a response, but at this point I am ready to cut my losses, keep this fabric and just go buy a yard of black canvas at Hobby Lobby! In the meantime I have another order on the way from them and a BIG order started so I have my fingers crossed that I will get all of what I ordered.
You all know how much I love my Kindle and in just a few more weeks I will be loving a brand new Kindle Touch! I am so excited to get it, I just wish they weren't taking so long to release them. I have mine all pre-ordered and I am NOT so patiently waiting for it. I have been wanting a new, smaller one for awhile and when I saw the touch I couldn't resist it. I am going to clean of my current Kindle and let my 2 oldest kids use it. I have a lot of books for them that I have been collecting here and there, but they don't want to sit and read them on the computer. I am sure they will be fighting over it constantly, but I guess we will have to work out some kind of system...maybe use it as a reward or something. I tossed around the idea of just going ahead with the Kindle Fire, but I am afraid it will be used for other stuff more and I won't read as much and I really love my books!
I have been trying to decide if I need to get this book or not. I really want to, but I have resisted so far. My friend Heather is one of the featured contributors so I really kind of do want to get it. I haven't done a swap in almost 9 months because I have been so busy, but I would like to start doing them again once I close down my store. I really enjoy creating things for swaps and I always had a really good time participating in all the discussions and all that. I will keep it in my cart for a little while before I decide!
I have some pictures to share, but I think I will save those for tomorrow! I don't want to put everything in one post and have nothing to say later in the week. I am going to try to blog more this week!
Have a great day!!
